The lights turn off,

curtains are pulled apart,

the white spotlight switched on,

It's showtime.

She's ready, her hair tied up in a bun

the midnight blue gown,

the little bow on her head

and the innocence on her face.

She's sitting down,

head down, legs curled up,

The audible silence,

everyone is awaiting this exact moment

The music starts with a fade

she gets up, a naive dance,

her as a child, as the happiest,

the most optimistic anyone could be

Slowly the tone slows down,

she's dancing out her struggles,

her life playing out in front of her,

she sees the pain.

The fierce yet smooth dance

hopping all around in the dark,

she's screaming inside, it hurts,

she's letting it out, just her all alone.

Tossing, turning, the music turns up,

a smile on her face,

indeed the struggle is over,

she's free to fly as far as she can go.

She found herself, her heart knows,

confident, more powerful than ever

with happy tears in her eyes,

flying around the stage.

She's spinning fast, ribbons fall,

her laugh no one can hear,

the dance screams to her,

she made it to the top on her own.

Everyone is already cheering, whistles are heard.

But she doesn't stop,

she won't stop,

not today, nor tomorrow.
